B is for: BEAUTIFUL FRIEND


Beautiful friend of mine, there is a sleeping lily among the columns of my simple heart needing only your smile to be awakened beneath the gentle winds of freedom.

How I wish there was someone like you to sway in my empty dreams, just like a flower that once danced upon the great waters of the Nile.

Please do not hide your sorrows from me, for I will be the comforter you have always hoped for in a humble man.

Lift the veil of the night so I may peer into your sweet spirit to see the pain no woman should have to endure from an unkind lover.

O friend, when I look at the sad teardrops welling up in your immortal eyes, your silent expressions cut me deeply in the heart.

Come, I will be most pleased if you will take my lonely bed and I shall wait outside for you until the morning sun shines her beauty upon your pretty face.

My beautiful friend, if you should need me to stay awake with you, I will gladly remove the sleep from my eyes to help rebuild the dreams I know you must return to.
